The West Central Area Learning Center is an optional learning experience for students that are identified as at-risk for a variety of reasons. Generally speaking, our students are non-traditional learners that are better served in a smaller, more relaxed environment than their local districts are able to provide. Students are engaged in activities ranging from credit recovery to full-time placement.
Currently, the West Central ALC is comprised of a high school program for grades 9-12, a Middle Level program for students in grades 7-9, night school, summer school, and Targeted Services for elementary aged children. We offer a very limited independent study program for students classified as "Senior Plus".
The Area Learning Center is a Choice Program that allows students from any school district to enroll. Students may be referred through their home district as well.
All day-school participants in our program are required to have a sponsor to act as their mentor and advocate throughout their stay.
